Summer Reading & Math Program

READING INTENSIVES

In this fun 8-week program, your child will improve comprehension and fluency, strengthen writing skills, learn to read grade-level text, and expand his or her vocabulary. Your child’s love of reading and confidence will grow, providing lots of motivation to read for enjoyment. Reading instruction is combined with hands-on activities and games to make learning interesting and fun for even the most reluctant reader. Course instruction is aligned with national reading standards and draws from a wide range of materials. At the end of the program, families will receive a written summary of their child’s progress, strengths, challenges, and recommendations to share with their educational team. Our method focuses on small groups (less than 10 children in a session), individualized plans, and science-based reading instruction in the following areas:

• Phonemic Awareness Instruction
• Phonics
• Fluency
• Vocabulary
• Comprehension
  

MATH INTENSIVES

In this fun 8-week program, your child will improve fact fluency, explore real-world problems using manipulative, and expand their conceptual understanding of numbers and operations. Small group instruction (less than 10 children in a session) is combined with hands-on activities and games to make math exciting and fun for even the most reluctant mathematician. Course instruction is aligned with national mathematics standards and draws from a wide range of materials. At the end of the program, families will receive a written summary of their child’s progress, strengths, challenges, and recommendations to share with their educational team. Your child’s love of math and confidence in his or her own abilities will grow, providing motivation to extend his or her progress to the classroom. Our method focuses on small groups, individualized plans, and science-based mathematical instruction in the following areas:

• Addition/Subtraction
• Multiplication/Division
• Fractions
• Decimals
• Geometry & Measurement

SCHOLARSHIP APPLY TODAY

This Summer reading or math camp could be free for your child/ren. We accept scholarships provided through stepupforstudents.org as well as ELC subsidies, when applicable.

ADDITIONAL FULL DAY SUMMER CAMP

In this fun 8-week program we have so many things in store for your child/ren that we had to put it in a magazine. Has your child/ren ever wanted to learn coding with Minecraft, create Youtube channel, be an entrepreneur, or build rockets. Well that's a small amount of activities LFE Center have in store. Volunteer

• We are asking that you or your teen be willing to donate a minimum of 20 hour of your time during the summer.
